Thank goodness, a harsh lesson that children are just as vulnerable to bad things happening when they are asleep as they are when awake.

Thank goodness? How can there be any thank goodness about a child that is missing.

What I cant understand is that in a country such as ours that has surveillance everywhere, how can a child vanish in broad daylight. There have been no reports of suspected vehicles in the area, the childs other movements are not noted, no witnesses saying they might have seen her. Nothing. A body surely would have been found by now.

Of course the police might not be telling everything.

All of these awaful happening makes you hug your little ones that much tighter.

indeed, I think there is now a whole generation of parents for whom the "baby listening service" or "taking it in turns to check on the kids" won't ever be an option...

Diff, climb down from that high horse, it must be dizzying up there...

This is what I was responding to with my "thank goodness" comment, not the fact that there is a child missing...that is the very last thing I would ever wish on anyone...if it means that parents are more aware of where their children are or who is near them then surely that is a good thing to come from such a terrible situation.

You know what? After careful consideration I'm coming down on the side of Kate.

So Shannon's mum looks like a fat multi-chinned mess whereas Kate's hair swishes elegantly behind her, revealing an attractive neck line and tantalisingly half open blouse.

I told you. I f***ing told you all.

they have been giving out leaflets about shannon at elland road, both for leeds and the rhinos on friday as well as at the other rugby league this weekend. on e person handing them was her aunt who was is tears. and while i am not going to poke anyone in their grief. like gully said, she is only 9 years old and no one knew she is missing for a long while, i think she was meant to go home, let herself in and whatnot until mum came home. poor kid.

brighton, actually
Maybe it's not a class issue. Maybe it's just that Shannon's mum isn't anything like as shaggable as Kate McCann?

i think the mccans had a few quid spare / good connections, to help boost public profile of the case..
i havent seen any footbal lgrounds doing videos with becks in them yet, for shannon..
