Agree with most of that but it was in GP's control to decide what striking resources he started the season with. It was GP that decided we didn't need Tau, Zeqiri, Andone or AJ but that we did need to keep Locadia. In hindsight those decisions have proved disastrous. I doubt any of us would have retained Locadia ahead of AJ or Zeqiri in particular. But then we "don't see Locadia in training" :D

No - we managed to find clubs to take Tau, Andone & AJ - freeing up a huge amount of wages. We couldn't get rid of Locadia (well we did, but they renegged) so we are stuck with him

You don't think the club did everything it could to get Locadia off the books - you can't seriously believe Locadia is here because GP chose to retain him!?

This!
I'm all for his approach when it comes to incremental improvement.
I think it is a great ideal, but unless we are taking a few steps backwartds before a glorious improvement, we look to be going the wrong way at the moment.

But plenty were thinking all was lost at this time last season,
Happy to see what the new year brings.

Indeed. This time last year we had 13 points from 16 games and finished the first half of the season on 17. It seems to have been a feature GP's first two seasons that the team has seemed pick up their performances in the second half of the season.

You imply Potter controls incomings and outgoings whereas he states that his job is just to coach and develop the players he is given.

As I've said for the last three months: no.

The most curious thing..
I don't think anyone has suggested that we "need to keep" Locadia. It seems more like that nobody else wants him.

Potter has coached this team well and has got them organised and playing good passing football, however if we don't address the problem in the quad by signing some proper forwards who can actually contribute over a season we wont finish higher than about 14th and Potter will leave.

Potter is not the problem, the abject failure in recruitment of a forward (s) is the issue.

Also the lack of goals is having a massive affect on the atmosphere at the Amex, its hard to get excited when you know chance after chance will be squandered

The recruitment team would argue that they got to work within an impossible budget . BlooM has to carry the can too .Dig deeper got to pay the going rate or always in the Locadia Maupay and Connolly bucket .

Were you the stupid c*nt with the f*cking "Potter Out" sign.

Covid, injuries, suspended players. WTF do you want him to do?

Urgh, that is so Arsenal.

We probably do have some equally as entitled fans now though.

I can’t deny we are in a worrying patch but I’m a realist. I’ve always said we can lose to anyone and given our start we are always relegation material. Some ppl just don’t understand how Brighton do things. It’s frustrating but I’m at the point now where I don’t really care anyway. Didn’t even flinch when Mweps missed the 5 yard chances. It’s more surprising when they go in now. Wolves should have had 4.

To add, the football was really bad last night. We never looked like scoring and that’s the worry…didn’t lay a glove on Wolves.

If Lamptey hadn’t been playing I think most ppl, including players on the pitch, may have fallen asleep before full time. We are desperately bad and repeating same old mistakes over and over again. We’ve been here before.

I’m potter in but he needs to have a serious think about how to turn this around. We don’t need any history lessons either.

Bloom could argue that he has to work with some impossible fans meaning he might not want to spend endless money to please people would never be pleased. So the small but loud group of moaners has to carry the can too. Out of pure love he bought you a stadium, invested enough to get you in the PL and keep you there... what does he get in return? Silence for 90 minutes followed by boos and the usual demands for more toys you can moan about. No shit he's not too keen on spending another fortune. When clubs win it is always "the fans are the club", when clubs lose it is always "the club needs to do more to make fans happy".

We didn't lay a glove on Wolves, except the two gilt edged chances that Mwepu missed. I get the frustration with games like last night, but with masses of players injured or suspended or isolating and a striker who hasn't been trusted to play much at all this season replacing our only actual striker I really didn't expect anything out of last night.

Sometimes games come at the wrong time and we should count ourselves very lucky that both Spurs and United were called off

It doesn't look to me like Potters lost the dressing room or anything, but we just look so tepid. I don't see a way to turn this around currently, GP needs to work a miracle or two while in an unprecedented injury crisis and third wave pandemic... Lets be honest here, if Tony wants to keep GP and not lose him to either resignation or a different club in the future we need to back him in January. We're in very bad spot right now, despite our position in the table. No team in history has gone 15 games winless in a row and stayed up, and we're 4 away from that total. The transfer policy we have is admirable, and the right way of doing things signing young players for the future but there is also the now to worry about and as it stands we're in deep shit IMO. I know he hates doing it in January, but Bloom needs to back Potter this winter or accept that going down is once again a very real possibility.

Potter is doing the best he can with the players he has. We all know the biggest issue is a lack of goals, is that GP's fault or the fault of our recruitment or the fault of our budget.
I know no wins in eleven is awful but in that we have had some excellent performances during this spell together with a few disappointing games. Let's be realistic this is why we are a bottom six club a lack of consistency caused by a lack of goals.

So, putting those records side by side it’s a little sobering. (Thanks A1X) Doesn’t feel like we’ve made as much of a leap as I thought. We’ve done step 1 and become harder to beat. Is that enough for me? Probably not. I guess GP has time to sort it out, as he should, but come the end of the season, will TB be happy with the progress? I’d imagine he’d give him another season.

Says the guy watching every Albion game on an illegal stream but do carry on patronising real Albion fans paying their hard earned whilst you are busy ripping the club off week in week out. What do illegal streams cost each PL club I think it’s roughly £1m a game :tosser:
