Good luck with the new ground, but it is a shame a development of a new ground requires a large company with deep pockets to enable the move. Particularly as the ground is a memorial to those local sportsmen killed in WW1.

Obviously most are blinded by their support for their club. What Green ideology is making our lives a living hell?

Both sides with bend and extend the truth to get what they want. Our 'community' stadium certainly did that.

You make a valid point my friend but the truth is the bristol ex rugby players, who represent who the ground was left to,have always had full interaction with sainsburys and are on record as being very happy with the compromise of the memorial gates becoming the centrepiece of a new memorial garden, the armistice day remembrance takes place at the gates every year but it will now be remembered more suitably in the dedicated memorial garden.I don't know if your aware, but bristol rugby club have been purchased by the bristol city owner and will be playing at Ashton gate at the start of the 2014/15 season.we at present are losing close to £1m per year and with this frivolous waste of time objection costing an estimate £1.15m as well, our club cannot sustain the loss of the rugby revenue so without the move it would be a matter of time before the football club went out of business in all probability. The greens solution to the problem?build a school instead but as the land is only valued at approx half of what sainsburys will pay that's a non starter and why is building a school ok but not a supermarket in regard to desecrating a war memorial?
I hope this gives you a little more insight into the details. All the very best to you.

The all sounds very familiar. Best of luck and hope you get your new ground. Part of the reason the Amex is so special is the amount of effort it took to get us there. Never give in, because it will all be worth it.

When you do eventually get your new ground I hope you'll love it as much as we love the Amex. if there's one small consolation is this long protracted affair it's that there's not the heartache and angst of leaving a much loved home behind because Eastville is long gone.

Fantastic news. Rovers are a passionate, community club with some of the largest gates in league 2. I'm sure they will thrive in the new UWE stadium.

Great news, glad you got the permission. I hope you do not have to wait long for your new home. FYI the Greens eventually supported our stadium after initially opposing it and now see the benefits a community stadium can bring, shame the Bristol contingent did not consult their Brighton colleagues.

Rovers to become the dominant team in Bristol then. Good, I've always preferred them to City.

We had our decision in the high court today and Trashorfields (the Green Party) objections were near enough laughed out of court by the judge.your fans support in signing our petition for getting the go ahead for our new stadium was very important as it took our total to more than double what the objectors claimed they had (their petition was never produced to view at any stage by the way).we had support from many many different clubs and were much appreciated by us,but because of what you went through before the Amex became a reality, you seagulls gave by far the highest numbers in total. The objectors were led by the Bristol Green Party leader but I don't need to tell you anything about the kind of antics they got up to as you are experiencing the green ideology at first hand down there.
Best of luck for the remainder of the season and I'm sure I speak for all gasheads when saying I hope you make it to the Premier league via the play-offs!

Today's result: football family 1 Green Party 0

Great news, a victory for fan power!

Great to hear you got it. I bet you guys are all on cloud nine. I remember when we finally got the Yes and being over the moon.

So glad that the few minutes we all took to sign it have paid off and you will have a great home to play in.

Have you got a proposed moving in date yet?
