That isn't what i said.

There are thousands of people who are trained in the same or similar manner. I didn't ask if you were or say you were or were not!

p.s. i wouldn't text and drive. And my car has a full hands free kit as well
Sorry, I'll rephrase it. Steward433 thinks it's ok for himself AND THOUSANDS LIKE HIM to break the law because he's been trained.

That better?

Did i say it was ok? NO i take and pay my fines i know it's illegal as does every other speeder. I tend not to get fined as i don't speed in town or in traffic.

And stop being so bloody self righteous, You saying you never break the law?

It is possible to touch-type... I can keep both hands on the wheel while I hold my phone and don't even look at the screen while texting

By that yardstick, it appears you consciously pick and choose where and when you're going to speed, and treat fines merely as an occupational hazard of speeding.

I break the speed limit if the road conditions allow me to but never in a built up area.

Yep fines are the hazard of speeding.

But you do text. Of course the so called experts who clearly haven't had the benefit of your 'training' or your lengthy driving experience (funny, I must have missed something over the last 35 years) are clearly quite wrong when they say that texting whilst driving is more dangerous than being under the influence.

Why do we listen to these ignorant fools ?

Actually, yes you did. I can't be arsed to dig out the thread or wade through thousands of your posts but you did say something along the lines of it was ok for you to speed as you'd been trained. In the context of this thread that in essenece is what the two 'texting-drivers' were saying: it's ok for them to do it as they can multi-task.

And if you'd bothered to read this thread properly you'll find that, yes I do break the law by occasionally exceeding the speed limit on motorways. I've been driving for 33 years, I've never been fined or been in an accident, but that doesn't make my behaviour 'right'. As Lush said driving offences tend to be things that people think it's ok to 'get away with', and we ALL think that what we do is ok.

As a Blackberry user, I send emails not texts. I am assuming this is ok as all the focus seems to be on texting.

I'm with you Bozza. I have a Blackberry, and typing on that is a two handed job most of the time, so I have to be sexually arosed at the same time or I can't actually steer at all.

I haven't heard anyone saying this is dangeous, so I'm assuming it's ok.

Well having trawled through the thread earlier I can't quite remember who said what, however, by the same token, speed limits are there for a reason as well. Oh, before you ask, I have never had a speeding ticket in all my years of driving. For that matter I've never had an accident either. Must be luck I agree.

should be fairly simple to convert a car into a Faraday cage I would have thought.

It is and they do. I think it was a VW Polo that I saw Richard Hammond in on Top Gear when they simulated massive bolts of lightening hitting teh car with him in it, and he was perfectly ok, due to the car acting as a "Faraday cage".

I think you'll find he was only perfectly ok because his feet didn't reach the floor.
