It's good if it leads to a situation where we get some truly top-level opposition for the game, but it also just seems symptomatic of the poor standards of organisation that sometimes seem to exist within the club.

Surely they should have been planning this months and months ago, rather than leaving it until relatively the last minute to find out that all their desired choices are otherwise engaged.

On the basis that it was planned at the START of LAST season, it really is a sad state of affairs. Lucky Kerry was offered a new contract, or it would have been even more embarassing.

THIS CLUB IS NOTHING SHORT OF A f***ing JOKE!

Whoever is responsible for this should hang their head in shame.

Poor Kerry, he must be gutted.

I dont know why they didnt try and arrange it for just after the season finished, and before people put "because of the World Cup", it didnt stop Shearer having his, or maybe the were not allowed due to Withdean rules

Could always ask Juventus but since they are now a Seria C club maybe they are not high profile enough.

I don't think they're a big enough club, quite honestly.

I'm glad it's not me organising this match. Everybody is criticising the way it's been handled without knowing the facts!

My understanding is that originally Arsenal had agreed before the Champions League final. However once they lost that they decided they couldn't go ahead as they would be playing in the qualifying rounds.

Once Arsenal agreed, what was the club supposed to do? All they could do was to wait to see the reult of the final. That would have been a great night and we would all have been saying how well the club had done to arrange a game with the Champions who would show off the trophy at Withdean. It wasn't the Albion's fault Arsenal lost then had to pull out.

Then we needed to find another club to play, and I suspect that we tried everything we could to get decent opposition, and when it became clear we couldn't, the club took the correct decision to delay.

As I said, this is my understanding, not FACT. I don't know anymore for sure, any more than most people who post on here do.

If i was the organiser I would be thinking what an ungrateful lot some fans are and would be feeling extremely pissed off when people criticise without knowing the FACTS!

It's a pretty thankless task sometimes, trying to organise things at the Albion!

Rant over, time for a swim.
