Cheap tele aimed at the lowest common denominator.

I OBJECT, that my licence fee is spent on perpetrating crass trash like this.

uh oh. You've got me started. <fx breaths deeply, and relax>

I quite like it! Good, harmless fun. It drags on a bit, but it's like a big pub quiz everyone can join in on. I can't see how it's that trashy.

All that shit about one group of dickheads vs another, it's just crap - so what if the Binmen beat the celebs, who gives a toss? And that 'woman', what a silly bitch she is. Phillip Scofield must be desperate.

Still, Big Brother is worse !!

51/70 and I'm pleased with that, I always pass on helping daughter with her English homework as I'm useless at it, my wife helps with that, now waiting for the answers to see if I'm top of the house

Hits the BBCs 'Public Servie Broadcasting' quota right on the head tho. If they want to keep the License fee, then they'll keep doing things like this.

What on earth is public service about it? Can anyone explain?

I''ll try.

This is simplyfied.

PSB is a concept, whereas the BBC "Know whats good for us." Instead of feeding us with reality TV shows they'll try and put on a few things about History, Documentaries, anything they think might broaden our knowledge (or anything that can be considered a family show that both 'informs' and 'educates'). However to make sure there audience share doesn't sink below the dreaded 33.3% they have to put on some tat to keep us thick idiots watching.. while were watching they carefully slip us some knowlege.

If the Beeb can strike this balance they will continue to get the License fee.. as the Government believe they are spending our money in a decent way. ITV and C4 obviously want the money to.. and although they get a small piece od the pie, they think they deserve more. So on the run up to the governments decision every station starts getting all sophisicated.

As long as the BBC keep airing Doctor Who I sharn't ever complain.
