Just imagine how much deeper the bowling options would look, and how better balanced the side would be, if he could be relied on to fire down a few partnership-breaking spells.
Good test would be to try to name the 100 England Test Caps in the last 20 years and 8 months. Low points for the recent big names and high points for the ones time forgot. Need to work something out around the players from 2000 to 2006; points deducted if capped before May 2003 and high points if just after Jimmy's Cap perhaps.
Would have been a perfect game in the past with your mates at a Test.
Now Google stops that and luckily Bazball doesn't give you the time to play.

I too have much in common. I used to be a decent bowler but can't manage it now.
This extended chat the commentators are having about when England announce their playing XI is possibly the least interesting conversation I've ever heard.
Another way of thinking about Anderson's age is that he's closer to the NSC average age than he is to Bashir's.
Jaiswal fairly motoring along since lunch, aided by a lot of over-pitched dross from our youngsters.

I've only seen a few Bashir reels on YouTube, but there is a lot of potential there. Reminds me a lot of Phil Edmonds.

16 off the 89th over...this is test cricket but not as know it!
More surprising is that we will get the 90 overs in, which is rare at home even with the extra half hour. Having an attack full of spinners may help with that somewhat!
