Is it just me or has Terry and his comments about Cole meant that we will not be seeing J Cole this side of 2012?

If Capello stays true to form, he will NEVER give in to player demands on tactics, and Terry saying include Joe Cole actually makes it impossible for Capello to include him.

Everyone pinning their hopes on Cole as the savious are rather mis-guided in my book. Flashes of brilliance, yes, would I pick him for wed, probably yes, but he has long periods of obscurity in games and if he lapses back to his showboating, then we're doomed M Mainwaring, doomed !

Terry does give the impression he thinks he's still in charge.

Terry is a bitter and twisted person who thinks he should still be captain, a view clearly not shared with the rest off the team.

Send him home.

Terry is a complete arse.

I refer you to the "John Terry Clause" reputed to be in his Chelsea contract.

Never heard of this before, but google pointed me to this from 2007, is this what you mean?

Terry is England's best-paid footballer after agreeing a five-year, £131,000-a-week contract this summer. In initial negotiations he had requested a 'limitless parity' clause to ensure he was the club's biggest earner for the duration of a proposed nine-year term. According to a Chelsea insider Terry also wanted - and was refused - a contractual option for him to manage the club at the end of his playing career.

No - this ===> Who the hell does John Terry think he is? Who Ate all the Pies

"Terry asked Chelsea for a 10-year contract that included a clause guaranteeing he would be the club’s best-paid player for the duration of the deal. The defender also wanted an option to become Chelsea’s manager when he retired from playing.’

Meaning no matter who Chelsea sign in the future, Terry contracturally has to be paid more than them.

I suppose you can't blame him or his agent for wanting to get the best deal they could from a club being bankrolled by one of the world's richest men. No one forced Chelsea to offer and sign this deal.

while everyone is enjoying having a knock at him, he is the one showing leadership and determination to turn this around.

I don't recall Terry saying anywhere in the interview that Joe Cole should be selected by Capello. He was asked about Joe Cole by a hack and replied that if Joe Cole came in he could do a job. At no time did he imply that Capello must select him. What else is he going to say? Too much is being read between non existant lines in order for the press to build up a case against Capello. The BBC this morning were reporting that the FA expect Capello to resign if we don't get through. The way the headline was read was as if the FA are saying they expect Capello to do the right thing and fall on his sword whereas in reality they have indicated that they are fearful that he will resign.

Terry is showing leadership for his own ends. That is the sort of determination for self-reward that i don't think England need more of. Terry's undermining of the authority of a manager with a medalion-laden career makes him out to be just the sort of man i'd be happy to never see it again. A cock.

You're a bit behind the times, aren't you? Firstly, that resigning comment was yesterday, secondly, this isn't about "the press building a case against Capello". They have their new focus now, and are building a case against JT and to a lesser extent Rooney.

a vain fool who cannot accept he's not the captain anymore. If I had to point a finger at where the problems lie it would be in John Terry's direction.

He has form with bigging up his mate Cole. He did it recently at Chelsea when Joe's contract demands were not met.

All the time that we haven't conceeded a proper goal, I don't think we can really get on JT's back.

Don't get me wrong, I hate the bloke. But our defence has been the one area which hasn't f***ed up yet.
