This is true in theory, however it is NOT happening everywhere, it is happening in some countries, not others.

If it is as random as you suggest then there is NOTHING linking these attacks...........but for the vast majority of these attacks there is a consistent denominator.

It’s not mental illness.

People who do this are clearly not mentally right. They've been brainwashed, fed lies and encouraged in almost all cases to kill themselves in the name of a cause. Thats hardly sane.

On the other hand, let us assume for a moment that these atrocities occur only because of Islam. Simple solution. Lock up all muslims. I have suggested this before on here and found no takers. Why? It is a simple and elegant solution, surely?

If it is not then I would like to see a thoughtful explanation why not - from someone who thinks that Islam is the root cause of all these attacks. Internment. The Canadians locked up all the local Japanse during the war (including the wife of a friend of mine). Simple solutions.....why is nobody advocating this rather than emoting in the usual fashion?

Obviously I don't buy into any of this bollocks. So I think the people who make lazy sniping comments associating terrorism with all muslims are the worst type of coward - sitting at home on a football forum effectively goading spotty teenagers to burn down the corner shop. Just face it - its just Victor Meldrew syndrome.

Reason why I'm cross? Because some poor ********, trying to earn a crust, are likely to get their corner shop torched tonight. It won't bring back the dead from elsewhere, whether it be those killed by ISIS or those killed by the IRA. They are dead.. Breaking news - vigilantism does not lead to resurection. Fact.

Thoughts with the innocent victims and their loved ones.

Unfortunately, this will fuel the racist rants and policies of Trump.
What about the non racists and people who are not in the Trump camp like me ?

Which religion would that be? I tend to get confused by the number of misguided idiots on different sides.

Of course, if you are trying to tar everyone with the same brush then carry on.

What a lot of sanctimonious bollox , they beheaded a soldier in broad daylight and tbere was no backlash save for some mysterious increase in "hate crimes" which in reality means someone glared.at.a woman in a hijab.

Donald J. Trump ✔@realDonaldTrump
My thoughts, condolences and prayers to the victims and families of the New York City terrorist attack. God and your country are with you!

Not to worry, Trump has sent prayers out to the dead victims (useful) and confirmed that God is with the victims and families side. I despair of religion I really do.

This act is the responsibility of the person committing it and the people who inspired it through the promotion of a particular interpretation of Islam and I am not blaming Trump. However, implying that God actually takes sides may be perpetuating the underlying problem.

Same here. All those daily terrorist attacks by Sikhs, Baptists, Hindus, Buddhists and Zoroastrians makes it SO confusing to know which religion could be responsible for this incident.

tbf Buzzer, if we had spent the last 20 years bombing Sikhs, Baptists, Hindus etc, I would imagine there would be some sort of reaction from the poor, and easily led by people who have decided that what they say is Gods will etc.
How many terror attacks by Muslims in the UK or even generally, before we joined the USA in their crusade? We have bombed the shit out of the ME. Muslim youths in the UK and elsewhere, will feel empathy, and targeted on account of their relgion.
and now theres a whole new couple of generations who have known nothing else except war. Its a horrible situation.

Explain this "irony" to me or i might start to think itz.a.lazy attempt at hiding the fact youve got no real reply.
Just look at your avatar, then remember your comment " The religion of peace " then think.....oh the irony.

I'd be more inclined to believe that if there weren't also terrorist attacks against non-Westerners in Egypt, Sudan, Eritrea, Kenya, Nigeria, Indonesia...
