What the f** have birds to do with this ?
???????

Do you think you should use "chatbot" or whatever it is that gives your answers, a little less and type reasonably correctly..?

FaIr play that you haven't flounced yet like your many previous characters.

How is Vagabond these days ..or Mustafa..? Do you know them...?

When you do eventually flounce, will you demand that all your previous posts, just like Mustafa, are deleted..?

I note that apart from every job from trainee lawyer to candlestick maker you really are the fount of all knowledge....

If you really want an argument with @Zeberdi f*** off and do it elsewhere because hijacking this thread by @BrightonCottager just makes you look like a complete and utter c***

You seem to be rather wound up for no apparent reason. It might be an idea to take a time out for a day or so and have a lie down.

I've scanned Thread titles and couldn't find one so apologies if this has been asked before.

I found out today that someone I know has just had a shock terminal cancer diagnosis. Are there local organisations that can offer help to him and his family? I know of Macmillan but there might be others. Thanks NSC.
I’m sorry to hear this. I can’t offer any advice on organisations but I wish you, and especially your friend and their family, all the best. Best wishes

You have offered practical help...? Are you experienced in these matters then ..?...and if so...why are you asking for advice on a football forum...?

I'm not criticising you, but most of us on here have had a close friend or...much more importantly, a close relative who has had a terminal disease. The difference between "friend" and "family" is huge.

From my little experience of my father, then my mother, and previously of close members of my family, who had terminal illnesses, information given by the various organisations involved in palliative care was hugely more welcomed than someone gathering, often a mixture of sometimes inaccurate information from a football forum at a distressing time. very upsetting.
Out of order. There are loads of people on here who know proper stuff and will offer it. If you have nothing to offer, a period of silence is recommended. NSC is not Tinder.

Seems a bit of a harsh response imo tbh - no one is offering specialist medical or oncological advice just saying what help is available based on their own experiences. It’s just signposting.

Other people’s experience can be very helpful - doesn’t matter if it’s for friend or family. For some people ‘friends’ are ‘family’. I lost my best friend of 20 years this week - I’m feeling it far more than when I lost an Aunty recently too so it’s not right to say it’s much less important 😕

From what I can tell, NSC isn’t just about football - it’s a community of people sharing a love of football but all with real lives and real issues they might at times want to talk about - I think NSCers are able to let people do that in a non- judgemental way.
Quite. I found myself unable to be so polite.

Thanks for the advice. I don't think I have to explain to most of you why I came onto 'a football forum' to ask the question. NSC is so much more than that and I generally don't even look at the Albion-related threads or contribute to them.
I'm lucky that I've only ever lost one close friend or family member to cancer and that was over 10 years ago and in the East Midlands. I got up to see him in time with a litre of Hophead from the Evening Star for his last ever real ale (he was a CAMRA member from year 1 and Hophead was his favourite ale). So that's why I was on here looking for local info.

I'll take on board the concerns of some of you and find a form of words to respectfully suggest that I understand that Macmillan is an excellent source of support. Thanks.

Are you really that brain dead to come on here, spouting your bollox on a thread, where the OP is asking for genuine help..
Utter madness IMO

Mrs.W in her NHS role would have useful info in answer to your initial question. If there’s anything to add to the Macmillan and Marie Curie advice, I’ll post it in this thread.

Morning @BrightonCottager …. Mrs.W recommends Macmillan and Marie Curie too, as well as Martlets … they’re more than a hospice.

A personal view after a near brush with C, I found the national charity for bowel C amazing. A mine of info and a forum run by experts. There’ll probably be similar for the C your friend has.
