Former England striker Teddy Sheringham today "categorically denied" giving
false details about a speeding offence, his solicitor said.
Sheringham, 41, who won 51 caps for England, was arrested last month on
suspicion of perverting the course of justice and questioned before being
released on bail.
He is one of three footballers who have been questioned over similar
allegations.
Sheringham's solicitor, Henri Brandman, said today that the veteran striker had
not been charged and was co-operating with police investigations.
