Firstly Happy new year to one and all.

a question for the teckies out there, my better half has taken her laptop to work in a private house in the hope that she can get wifi internet access. unfortunately she couldnt. she has heard that she can use her mobile phone (which has internet access) as her connection to the laptop to gain access to the internet. is this correct? does she have to purchase a special adaptor to connect her phone to the laptop? thanks in advance. apologies for my lack of knowledge.

It depends of her mobile phone and how good it is.

The very latest high-end ones let you turn it into a wireless hot-spot which she can connect to with the laptop.

If not, she could simply buy a USB dongle and use that with the laptop.
