Dongles have strict download limits

This is very true. Go over it at your peril... I got clobbered with a bill for £800 after being mis-informed by a work colleague that our dongles supplied by work had unlimited downloads.

I got hauled up in front of HR to explain and had to pay for the extra usage...

Needless to say, they never found out exactly what kind of movies were being downloaded!

is that a 12 or 18 month contract? id' have thought the latter, or even a 24mth. makes a big difference to how much its costing in total.

compare with £350 for the cheapest laptop in PC world, £10/mth on plusnet for ADSL with no contract to worry about. might be a bit more expensive but better connection. if its 12 mth deal though its good value. just check your coverage.
