Are you saying that's what you want or that's what you expect to see lining up on the Withdean sward?

I don't think anyone predicted the line up for last night, so picking the starting Xi for Oldham could be tricky. Gus seems unlikely to change the back five, so:

Casper
Calde - Elphick - El Abd - Painter

Midfield? Likely to be more attacking at home although he has gone 4-4-2 recently. So perhaps:

Bennett - Sparrow - Bridcutt - KLL

Seems to like two up front at the moment, so will start with:

Barnes - Murray.

Sandaza on the bench, but would love to see more competition for the striking places if we're going to nail down play-off spot.

Like what you say, however it would be a big call to rest Kishishev

At home so will surely be 4-4-2, back 5 picks itself so:

Bennett - Kish/Bridcutt - Sparrow - LuaLua
Murray - Barnes

I think Kish and Bridcutt will get a game each v oldham and Brentford, not sure which way round though.

I think you're right, unless Gus keeps faith with Bridcutt for Saturday and he plays another blinder, in which case I would expect him to keep his place for Brentford. It's brilliant that we have two equally good players in that position so they can both push each other.

I'd be amazed if we don't play 4-4-2 with Barnes and Murray up front. I would also expect Sandaza to be brought on slightly earlier and if he plays well maybe start against Brentford.

After last night's performances;

Brezovan
Calderon - Elphick - Greer - Painter
Bennett - Sparrow - Bridcutt - LuaLua
Murray - Barnes

Ankergren looked dodgy to me last night, the long throw that went straight through the 6 yard box at 0-0... I mean christ. Good shot stopped but all round, I would rather have Brez back in there. And I thought El-Abd looked shaky until we took the lead, I'm not criticising the man because he has been brilliant and is a very important player in our squad, but I think we should be playing Greer, and I think he'll take us up to another level. Especially with Brez in goal behind.
Midfield, I love Gary Dicker. But I think Sparrow and Bridcutt would give us better balance and we need to have the wingers, given we're playing at home. I wouldn't be in a rush to put Kishishev back in, I didn't think he played that well against MK Dons and I would prefer both Bridcutt and Dicker ahead of him, because we have such strong midfielders now! Kishishev is a great player, but I think both Bridcutt and Dicker are better.
I think the two strikers both pick themselves.

There is no chance that Poyet will alter the back four/five, especially after he said: "you don't change the defence when you're keeping clean sheets." or words to that effect. I think Kish will play, bearing in mind Bridcutt has only played once this season. Kaz will also come in with Barnes retaining his place. My money is on sparrow to be dropped. But Poyet is his own man, and it remains to be seen what he will do?!? which when you think about it, is a good thing - if we can't get it right, then the other managers will doubtless be unsure too... All in all, I couldn't give a rats ass who plays, so long as we perform and get a positive result.

Agreed although I'd say Bridcutt over Kish as we need to keep the old fella healthy.

This is not what I think our strongest team is but rather the team I think Gus will pick for Saturday:

Ankergren
Calderon Elphick El-Abd Painter
Bennett Sparrow Kishichev Lualua
Murray Barnes

Brezovan
Greer
Dunk
Bridcutt
Baz
Dicker
Sandaza
