Personally I think if we had already signed Virgo, Hawkins would not have been signed so I can see him being the one to miss out at the start. Depending on how well we defend i'm sure he'll get his chances though

Personally i think all 4 defenders (lynch, elphick, hawkins and virgo) are strong enough for a starting place, it may come down to perfomances in training. My choice would be elphick and hawkins.
Whereas i am more worried about a back up goalkeeper, ill admit due to work commitments ive only been to havant as of yet, although from his performance that evening he looked nowhere near league 1 standard. Not just because of the last goal, as we have seen things like that happen to decent keepers, but the constant fumbles and inabililty to hold onto shots. On numerous occasions easy shots were drilled in and he spilled them, fine in freindlies but in league one im sure we would be punished. Apart from that i think the suggested teams are good, perhaps just a back up striker, or will this be gargans year?

I have a feeling it might be Virgo and Lynch. I think Lynch, being left footed, may be preferred. Having said that, it would be very hard to drop Elphick. I suppose there's the possibility we might go with 5 at the back but I doubt it.

Other than the center backs the rest of the team pretty much picks itself baring any injuries.

I suspect Virgo will be the first choice to go up front if either Murray or Forster get injured/suspended. The other strikers haven't really shown they're ready to step up (although to be fair you have to give them the opportunity to prove themselves) and with the extra options at the back it would keep the defenders happy at least..

Talking of the back up strikers. Possibly overly optimistic but I have a feeling Dixon could become the new 'Lee Steele'. Supposedly a poacher in front of goal and a very high work rate.
