Bringing on Lamptey for Veltman for 20 or 30 minutes is exactly what nursing Lamptey back involves!

With respect when do you propose doing this against Arsenal? When we're 1 up? 2 up? What if he breaks down? Or when it's all gone pear-shaped and the game is lost? It would be madness to take Veltman out while he's in such good form. This is what using your squad is about. I could even see better reason to risk him at Anfield or against City where we are more unlikely to get much. No sorry, we've done well so far and Joel Veltman has had a lot to do with that. This situation was always likely to occur once Tariq was on the mend. What wasn't forseen was just how integral Joel has been this season. Why try to fix something that isn't broken. I'd be livid if I were JV in this scenario

I've no idea why you're asking this when the 'when' was very clearly and specifically stated in my post.

It's quite simple really... you say 20 or 30 minutes but is that irrespective of how it's going in the game? Of course not. Using a Premier League game as a test-bed for Tariq's fitness could be suicidal. At most I would test Tariq at Norwich, and then only if things are going well. To use Arsenal, a game we could very well win on current form is just plain daft. We could throw the match and wind up with Lamptey on crutches for the rest of the season to achieve what exactly?

OK, that's what you want. I want our star player brougt back gradually and carefully, starting on Saturday.

Haven't seen Moder play a minute of football I wasn't impressed with so far, he would be my first choice at CM after Biss and Lallana.

From the club site ....

Team news
Graham Potter said, "Yves Bissouma is making progress but it will be a decision for later on in the week.

"Danny Welbeck is seeing a specialist, while Steven Alzate wont be ready for the weekend."

Suspect we won't take the risk on Bissouma.

Get Moder in there (or maybe Mwepu to break up play - if he's recovered - they haven't given an update as far as I know...?).

Strong team

If Biss doesn't make it... Would also love to see Lamptey come on earlyish

Sanchez
Veltman Duffy Dunk
March Moder Lallana Cucurella
Mac Allister
Trossard Maupay

This would be my preference too, solid at the back with Mac to set up the goals up top UTA

So i'm not sure we're any the wiser.

Blatantly Alzate wasn't playing, they we're never going to reveal the hand on Bissouma. Welbeck seeing a specialist? What a suprise

What about Mwepu? Is MacAllister fit? A chance of Lamptey?

How are we supposed to put together imaginary XI's to play Arsenal if we have no idea who's fit?

No Mwepu, according to the club website.

Ny choice of back three woud be Veltman, Dunk and BDB (Solly at RWB, with some minutes for Lamptey). If the full 90 is too much for the returning from injury Dan Burn and he has to be puled off, switch to a flat back four by bringing on Duffy - or stay three at the back and give Roberts the chance of a cameo apperance.
