Probaly El Abd in for Greer and the rest as last week at home to Rochdale as there appears little chance of us signing anybody. I am getting quite concerned that we are not improving the squad with signings, which is rather ominous taking into account the fact that Gus and Tony Bloom both said they wanted the squad assembled early before preseason training. Perhaps it wasnt all DK fault in the past that we left it until very late and just before the deadline to sign anybody.

I'm sure they ARE trying so sign players, but its not as easy walking into a shop and deciding what you want off the shelf. Read the interview on Seagulls world, these things take time

I fully accept what you are saying but perhaps being supporters we are too blinkered and believe that everybody wants to play for BHA. Perhaps the problems of house prices in the south wages etc are the major stumbling block as everything seems rosy for the future with a new stadium and ambitious management and chairman.

If house prices are a stumbling block then how comes we signed players like Greer and Sparrow? I'm not convinced by that.Players are after security ie lenghthy contracts and a decent wage thrown in.

I don't consider myself too blinkered at all, a realist yes - but blinkered no.

It would seem that in the past DK didn't have the funds to bring the club forward, hence why Tony Bloom stepped in.
Gus has stated that its not about quantity its about quality. He knows who he wants and if they decide they're unavailable he starts looking again. This, IMHO is the right way to go, as opposed to whats happened in the two last pre-seasons, where Adams and Slade went out and signed loads of players who all under-preformed for us and have since left(with the exception of Elliott Bennett). Its a game of patience for a club like ours and Gus is doing alright so far....
