8 points in 12 is brilliant. However Micky cannot hide behind the fact that his team are not at their best and lack creativity.

I think this match HAS to be used to find out more about his squad and give the likes of Loft, Lynch, Chamberlain a chance. Also to find the correct position for Virgo and Livermore.

What do u think the squad should be for this game.

Apparently Compton is miles away from the first team. Also think this would be a good time to give Fozzie a rest, get him raring to go next saturday. Only problem is, who can replace him, maybe try Virgo up top.

Nice idea, but Norhampton are a decent side. We need to work on our first team. Maybe play the gane like we are at home and attack and see how that affects the performance rather than sit back and hit people on the break.

This is a competition that we could realistically win so play the best team available which is:

Kuipers

Virgo
Elphick
Hawkins
Richards

Cox
Thomson
Livermore
McLeod

Forster
Murray

Subs;

Sullivan
Whing
Lynch
Fraser
Robinson

but wish he could sign 2 players to replace Fraser and Robinson

Not sure your criticism of Whing is totally justified, would definitely keep him in the side. Dont like Thomson and Livermore together either, but there arent many suitable alternatives - new signing needed please Micky. Would also start with Lynch not Elphick.

He has been a weakness this season and has been caught out too much because Elphick does not cover him enough. I would agree that Lynch is far better than Elphick but would be reluctant to play 2 central defenders who are both predominantly left footed. I am not sure how Hawkins would cope with playing in Elphicks position unless I saw it in practice.

MA has said that he will play Virgo come what may so I would expect it to eventually be in place of Whing.

We can't do well in every competition with the same 11. If we want to do well in the league I think this competition should be used for a few experiments.

Sullivan

Virgo Elphick Lynch Richards

Cox Thomson Chamberlain Loft

Robinson Murray

Give me one good reason why we should play a weakened virtually reserve team in a competition that we could realistically win. Would be better to do that against Man City if we have to, but I do not think that we need to as they have only played a hand ful of games and wont be tired and winning breeds confidence.

We need to give Loft, Chamberlain and Lynch a competitive game.

The centre midfield is a huge problem so why not give Loft or Chamberlain a chance to impress.

We do not need to give either Loft or Chamberlain a game as both have shown that they are no where near to being first team players. I would however, play Lynch instead of Elphick because I believe that he has more ability on the ball and is a better prospect for the future. Everybody has read my view of Loft he is one of the worst players ever to wear the striped shirt.

That will not happen as MA said on the phone in he will play a strong team for a competition that we could win.

Well good on him, he wants to do well in all competitions, but we don't want to be knackering ourselves out ahead of the League game next Saturday
