Bissouma -
Lamptey -Lallana - Trossard --
--- Maupay --- Connolly ---

Well i know i will get shot down but go into the game playing Lamptey more forward , less defensive duties e.g. at Corners he is on centre circle either defensively or if it is our corner waiting to pick up lose ball and dash away with it.

Certainly want to see Connolly and Maupay up front as that is our best forward combination.

Playing Connolly and Lamptey gives us pace and players who want to get forward quickly.

As was said earlier difficult to know which Trossard will turn up i.e. the brilliant (v Man U) or the shadow (v Palace)

Subs: Sanchez, Burn, Molumby, Gross, Mac Allister, Alzate, Welbeck

I'm thinking this as well, we shouldn't need two holding midfielders in Biss and Alzate, with 3 at the back and Biss holding and breaking up play we can attack more and keep them penned in their own half.

Yes and, ideally, three of the last four named subs to come on depending on the match situation. They're going to play with a deep block and get ten men behind the ball, and play on the counter-attack. We might need additional guile to come on (eg Alzate for Connolly) to break them down, Lallana probably won't last 90 minutes, and we might need someone who can score from outside the box (Mac Allister) and, if we're up, Welbeck's pace, height and experience ought to serve us well when they begin to open up.

I'm quite excited to see how we line up vs West Brom. Potter may change personel or a completely new formation, whatever happens it will be difficult for West Brom to know.

Solly has had an excellent start to the season but I don’t see him as part of a back 4.

White did well enough in CM but he’s not a CM and we can’t keep playing people out of position. Alzate in, as he’s class. Wonder if Propper will makes bench - he never seemed to get injured previously!

Has Propper been on the bench much? I’m struggling to remember our subs.

The question is more if he is going to ask one of Bissouma or Alzate to play the same way White did in order to have more solidity there, or whether we go back to the same style we did previously. It was certainly effective at preventing opposition breaks when we lost possession.

Assuming they play on the counter with two very quick wingers and some decent pace in the middle I’d look to overload their midfield and stop them playing..

Ryan
Veltman White Webster
Lamptey Bissouma Alzate March
Lallana
Maupay Connolly

Subs: Steele Burn Molumby Gross Trossard Welbeck MacAllister

If Welbeck was match fit I’d have taken both Maupay (not as effective as a lone striker) and Connolly out and put MacAllister alongside Lallana

Anyone know where Zeqiri is in all of this? Watched the U23 game at the weekend thinking he might get a run out and wasn't involved there. I know he has been given the No 29 squad number but expected to see him at least involved with the odd U23 game.
