Couldn't see another thread. Quite straight forward for me, Welbeck into the match day squad for Dunk. Alzate then replaces Dunk in the team with White dropping back:

--------------------Ryan
--------White - Webster - Burn
Lamptey - Bissouma - Alzate - March
-------------------Lallana
------------Maupay - Trossard

Subs:

Steele
Veltman
Bernardo
Mac Allister
Gross
Connolly
Welbeck

Exactly this but I'd much rather have Molumby on the bench than Bernardo.

Similar, but with White in the centre and Webster on the right side. Connolly in for Trossard, and Molumby on the bench in place of Gross in case we need to match their physicality.

Maupay plays better with Connolly on the pitch.
The Tross can be light years ahead of Connolly.
But also a shadow of what Connolly brings.

It would be so much easier if we knew which Tross was turning up.

Surely Veltman. If not now, then when?

Some really good ideas on here personally would go. 5-2-2-1 Ryan, Lamptey, Veltman, Webster, Burn, March, Bissouma, White, Lallana, Trossard, Maupay Bench: Connolly, Alexis, Alzate, Molumby, Gross, Bernardo, Steele.

Think it' a great game for Veltman to get his first start. White in cdm could be key to stopping counters again, Lallana and Bissouma have to play. Connolly and Alexis dangers off the bench.

I have to agree re. Connolly (even though on paper he takes up a spot I'd rather give to someone else).

Connolly stretches defences, is very quick to press and does a lot of work off the ball that seems to work Maupay's favour.

Simply put, his speed and aggression upsets defences and creates space or opportunities.

EDIT: It's tough picking a team right now.
Mac Allister could be worth a punt with his late runs into the box, one touch football, and set pieces (something that should be really important over 90mins).
Trossard, Alzate, Lallana all seem like they should be on the team sheet.
Meanwhile White in midfield against Palace resulted in zero (count 'em) zero shots on goal the whole game from our opponents. Certainly something to think about.
And of course I want to see what Zeqiri and Welbeck can bring.

TBF when Trossard does not play as a partner for Maupay he delivers, as much as anyone else in their position anyway.

Hes much better behind Maupay and Connelly, just like Maupay is much better when paired with Connelly.

Potter back to his old ways of changing everything every week!!!! Moving Lamptey up front, getting Welbeck in right away. Sitting March, Connelly and Maupay!!! MacAllister, Jahanbakhsh (if not injured) and Maupay in after 60 minutes for Lamptey, Trossard and Welbeck.

To be honest, I don't really mind, and that's because of the depth we have. I have just realised, that I now don't really know how many subs you can name anymore... My plan : Play Veltman to keep White in central birth - with Livermore in there, we may need that added physicality. I am looking forward to this one, but our history for providing wins for teams that have been on win-less streaks always haunts me!! Wouldn't surprise me if Welbeck deemed a little off the pace for this one, so Connolly back in if so..

I was just about to write the same and wondering if there was some sort of test that could be carried out in advance. I thought maybe some way of measuring the contrast between the darkness around his eyes and the paleness of the rest of him.

The greater the contrast the less energy he seems to have.

When he is on form though he is undroppable in my opinion.

I'm thinking this as well, we shouldn't need two holding midfielders in Biss and Alzate, with 3 at the back and Biss holding and breaking up play we can attack more and keep them penned in their own half.
