A lot of people are showing a back four. Is this a preference for a formation change as I thought we played with a back 3 for most of this season?

I just don't see any value in it when you're playing against a team with one striker. There's absolutely no need for it and we always look far better balanced when we've got a more conventional back 4. I would say we've played more games with a back 4 than 3 at the back, but it might be pretty close. It's fluid within a game, depending on who is in the team. Take the Burnley game for example, Webster moved to right back in a 4 man defence but that had a lot to do with Solly March having started as a right wing back. ??? Which, obviously, wasn't successful.
