So who out of our midfield/frontline do you think Gus will drop for Vicente? Crofts? Bridcutt? CMS? Barnes? Noone? Or Dicker?

Out of those, possibly Noone but the we lose our only winger...

I don't know to be honest. I just think Gus rates GD higher than the fans. You may be right with Noone.

Especially after Radio Sussex said that he had a good game yesterday and was in attacking positions a number of times.

Yep. Gus has said that Dicker understands his style of football more than most in the squad.

Dicker's assists count is zero and when did he last score, all he does is pass back and get carried by others. This season will decide how good gus thinks he is and how well he will do,but he's just one of a few that get carried in most matches.

I can only assume you don't know who he is. He does lose the ball a fair bit but that is precisely because he is usually trying to play quite ambitious and creative passes.

Yesterday he opened up their defence several times with passes (put both CMS and Barnes through), and spread the play wide to Noone and then LuaLua loads of times. I know that is one game, but it's the one fresh in my mind and I think it's typical of his play.

Your assist comment is meaningless. One, where is it even from? We have played 2 games and scored no goals, so I can't imagine anyone's assist count being fantastic. Secondly, it's a stupid stat. It credits the player who puts the cross in, but not the person who opened up the space and got the winger the ball in the first place.

It's the creativity down the middle that's just as important, clueless if you like him thinks dicker creates chances,he barely goes across the halfway line in most games.

That is completely irrelevant to helping the team create chances.

Dicker played 48 games for Stockport and scored a big fat zero:)

He's a passing midfielder.

And that was several years ago. And for a pretty shit team.

What a bizarre comment.

I don't know if it's coincidence but I think I'm right in thinking that we haven't won a game since Dicker came back from injury last season.

Bit harsh on Dicker, there's a bunch of unfavourable comments you could make about most from around that time. Saying that, and regardless of yesterday, I think we need better in the area if we are to give ourselves a shot at promo

rubbish,if he's halfway up the pitch he should be creating chances for others,he's defensive end of.

I was saying he does create chances and where you typically find him doesn't matter - you can help open up an opponent and create chances without leaving the centre circle.

Listen, we totally disagree and I'm not going to resort to suggesting that you don't understand the game as I am sure you do, but you seem to really have it in for Dicker and I cannot understand why. Can you do me a favour? If you are going on Tuesday, can you WATCH his contribution to the game? In particular, the players who do create "assists" as you call them (Noone, LuaLua, Buckley, Vicente etc), can you watch where they get the ball from in the first place? I suspect you will be amazed how many times it is Dicker.

I would think after yesterday's good performance bar the result Poyet is likely to have the same starting 11. I can't see Lua Lua being started in place of Noone. Poyet sees him as an impact player for 20/30 minutes.

If we get the win under our belt we could go on a run of results I feel

Maybe Lua Lua has done enough to start....with Noone the impact player ....Buckley still not ready?

I don't see why he shouldn't start with the same team as Tuesday.

Kuszczak
Bruno ~ Greer ~ El-Abd ~ Bridge
Bridcutt ~ Crofts
Barnes ~ Dicker ~ Noone
Mackail-Smith

If Vicente is fit I would personally want to bring him in for Dicker (despite an excellent performance yesterday) and of course I'd want Buckley starting too.

Actually, its not his passing that loses posession, its the times when he dallies on the ball for what ssems like an eternity and he gets robbed. His passing is pretty good in fairness.
