Murray did play well at Southampton, but like Gus has stated he does not do it enough.

No point in playing a blinder if in the next 6 you are a passenger.
Murray at his worst is still essential until we have much better options than the current ones to replace him.

That's a fair comment. I have to admit I don't go to every game, so don't have an overall picture and I have seen in the past how anonymous he can be, but I'd still rather he started over and above anyone else we have.

To be honest I would rather someone who is going to work for the team for 90 minutes.

I'm hoping Sandaza proves to be a good signing. He looks the sort of player that when he plays against you, you think what a pile of shit but somehow always bloody scores.

I think Gus is starting to get tough with Glen, I hope he takes the hint and proves he's a good player.
The question is has he got it in him to do that?

Murray has been class most of the season. He might not be prolific but his work off the ball makes up for it. Alot of those chances that Barnes keeps squandering are because of the work Murray does, Barnes isn'tt as good when Murray's not there.

Yes, yes, YES.

And not only Barnes. Every other striker looks better playing with Murray than not. That's what he does.

Oh, and the penalties we had in each of the last two league games - Murray won them both.

Last season I thought Glen Murray lost possession too often, because he tried to play too many clever flicks and tried to turn defenders, instead of getting his body between the defender, and the ball and playing in the direction he was facing. However this season, I've been eating my words, because he has been holding the ball up and working for the team. I've not seen every game this season, but I've not seen one where he could have been described as a passenger. For my money Glen Murray starts, on his own, with Barnes or with Wood.

Interesting to me that Dunk seems to be ahead of Elphick now...

Based on what? They both played on Saturday. Dunk was on the bench and featured v Southampton because Elphick was suspended. Or do you just mean in the eyes of fans on here?

This ... There is not another striker at the club anywhere near Murrays class at the moment and Poyet is well aware of that because he has been trying to sign one for months but the money just isnt there.

Oh yes, sorry I should have said that's what it seems like the fans eyes, most if not all people would have Dunk playing ahead of Elphick it would seem.

I agree by the way, just goes to prove how much we rate Dunk I guess..?

Dunk 'has the shirt' due to Elphick's suspension at Southampton, where he was really good, and Elphick was rubbish in both Woking games.
It's a shame for him because he was playing really well and was slightly unlucky to be dropped in the first place, but he hasn't really grabbbed his opportunities since then.
