AND.....what is the problem with Wright ? Do people think that Gus doesnt rate him?
He MUST be a better bet than El Abd

Wright is still injured and I think Gus said that he wanted to give the back four a few games together on the bounce. Sadly, maybe RS had a point by changing it every week - this four have got worse and worse sadly.

With confidence low, and a third round place at stake, must go with a fairly strong line up.

- Smith

- - Hoyte
- - Virgo
- - Tunnicliffe
- - El Abd (unless Jimmy is fit)

- - - Hart
- - - Crofts (c)
- - - Dicker
- - - McLeod

- - - - Davies *
- - - - Dickinson *

(*with Forster getting a good 30 minutes if fit enough)

EDIT: Actually, I'll give Hart a game at RM, giving Bennett a little rest, before bringing him on to cause havoc with 20 minutes to go.

I think by now we must all have come to the conclusion that none of our defenders are up to much. Elphick must now be rested. Although we do not want many loan players, I don't think we have a choice if we want to stay up

Rushden are a decent Conference team, and should not be underestimated.

If we defend like we did against Norwich, we will get raped BIG TIME.

Why would you play Whing at left back ....has he ever played there?

I would play him at left back because he is a better left back than El-Abd, and yes he has played there.

....and Wright has an ankle injury.

Anything else?

We have a realistic chance of drawing a 'big team' in the third round so we must play the best team that we have available Saturday is not a day to experiment. So I would suggest

.....................Smith........................

Hoyte...........Virgo...........Elphick...............Whing (no fit left backs)

........................El Abd............................

Bennett.............Croft.........................Cox

,,,,,,,,,Hart/Forster,,,,,,,,,Dickenson

I think that Tunnicliffe was responsible for at least one goal against both Leeds and Norwich and is at the moment a little bit of a liability and needs to be used sparingly.
