Or he really is injured and Fabian was keeping his cards close to his chest when he said Tariq would be an option on Saturday. We’ll find out today!

In any case the article doesn’t actually indicate the Ghana FA has reacted to news he might feature against City.

You appear to have missed out Wellbeck and Georginio starting together, as they did to very good effect when Joao Pedro was injured… but yes, we have good options!

I think Lamptey regards injury as an inevitable aspect of his career so yes, he has become inured to it.

Indeed.

The selection of Lamptey really affects the tactics of the opposition.

A known weakness of our system with Lamptey playing is the long aerial ball out to the wing. Opposition teams put a big strong player up against Tariq such as Semenyo. He normally loses the 50/50 against these power houses. This means that a centre back always needs to be on hand to help out which can create gaps in the penalty area against us.

Hinsh is good enough in the air to combat most of this but he does need a lot of help from Minteh against speedy and tricky wingers. Hopefully Pep has picked a team with the possibility of Lamptey playing in mind.
