I didn’t spot Ferguson, Welbeck, Lallana, Undav, Moder or Colwill (the last two as expected)

Edit: cursory glance while working, I didn’t spot them, they may be there
Undav is in the training pics on the site. No Welbeck or Ferguson which is concerning.

And that would only mean from the last game bringing in Sarmiento for Welbeck. That's not something that concerns me.

Also the fact that they might not be in the pics for a number of reasons other than injury

I just wonder if we'll carry on with the two striker formation we've been playing.
surely not?

he’s tried it twice, and we’ve been shit both times, and had to change back to the preferred fhree midfielder formation to rescue the wins.

If Ferguson and Welbeck are both out - Welbeck had strapping on his left calf after he came off in the last league game - could we see Mitoma as the false striker in a role similar to which Trossard played a handful of times

Possible but more likely to be 1 up top, with Undav.

When is Lallana due back, thought I read a quote from him saying he’d only be out for 2 weeks so must be nearly ready?
I thought this too and could have sworn I’ve seen pics somewhere of him back in training. If fit then Lallana has to start. Veltman definitely has to start too, whether at CB or RB if Colwill is fit. Think Welbz will get the nod over Ferguson to start this one for his experience and know-how, with Fergie coming on in the second half at some point.

He was in the Friday training pics wasn't he?

There is no point in all this juggling of players out of position.

4-2-3-1 with everyone in their natural positions and a collective mix of experience and ability across the park. I wouldn't want to see anyone with less than 25 top flight games in the starting line up.

Sanchez
Veltman, Webster, Dunk, Estupinan
Caicedo, Gross, MacAllister
March, Welbeck, Mitoma

If any of those are unavailable then a natural replacement gets the nod. This is not a game to gamble from the start but to ensure we play to our strengths

Agree eith the sentiment, that we should go back to 4-2-3-1
A lot depends on injuries and match fitness.

If everyone was fit I suspect RdZ first choice 11 is probably
Sanchez
Gross Dunk Colwill Estupinan
Mac Allister Caicedo
March Lallana Mitoma
Welbeck

Given at least 3 are likely to be out, I would think Lamptey and Veltman may come in at the back, pushing Mac further forward and possibly Undav upfront, if Ferguson also not available.
But at the moment who knows.
I think for the Palace game we need as much experience as possible,so would leave the kids on the bench.

If Ferguson is fit he has to start, he’s our best striker and it’s against that lot. Fully disagree with anyone saying he should be coming off the bench.

Palace haven't won a game in 2023.
We are unbeaten in 2023.

What could possibly go wrong?
