Nothing to do with qualifications , if your not given a chance when it's clear to you and others within a team environment that your better than the other player , tension will build in that team environment and eventually something will give and all the hard work Gus has put in will be destroyed as the changing room splits , Barnes is living off previous seasons and is not currently showing he is capable at this level and must be dropped this Saturday.
Gus's Golden boy Barnes will start, Kuscszak probably won't for questioning and upsetting Golden Boy, Mackail-Smith probably won't for daring to try and take the Penalty instead of Golden Boy, Bridcutt probably won't for not passing to Golden Boy...
That's got nothing to do with qualifications it's a fact of human nature in any work place
That is a big IF going by the reaction after the game on Tuesday.
and if Ashley Barnes is universally popular in the squad and rated by his fellow professionals?
Perhaps the half time talk before the match started would work? Not sure how changing one or two players would stop that. Perhaps a f*cking rocket up their arse PRIOR to taking the field would be the way to go.
Does anyone who posts on here know exactly what the alleged fracas was about?
For me I will trust three people : Tanno and Poyet (I am sure that Poyet trusts Tanno's opinion and I doubt he is shy giving it). The third one is Vicente; when they played together last season Barnes was always the player Vicente looked for. All three of those have a lot of pro football experience.
Well in my view he was closer to MoM on Saturday than Bruno and the radio commentary team on Tuesday also made him MoM against Leicester. My wife spent 10 minutes chatting to CMS at the Charlie Oatway Testimonial Lunch and when she mentioned Barnes, CMS said his contribution is missed by many fans, but he is highly regarded by the players for his contribution and workrate and clearly equally well regarded by the management. I have to say at the moment that if Dobbin is the answer, I really don't know the question. Doesn't even merit a place on the bench at the moment, but I would be delighted if he comes good and scores at Blackpool. He may be both of the above but it's a professional team sport and if he is a team player he will recognise the fact he is not playing well enough when he is dropped , the others in the squad may respect him but that won't get in the way of their natural winners mentally and if to win means dropping him they will only respect a manager who is capable of making that decision, if Barnes reacts poorly to being rightly dropped his respect will soon be lost in a team environment.
Dobbie is nailed on to score at Blackpool as it is his old club and they loved him up there
