It's time they were fined for taking time off in term time.

Any teachers on here striking today?

Time everyone got behind them!

Hmm. Averagely long days and extortionate holidays for a very good salary (compared to many). I think not.

Let us know their salary rates then we can judge for ourselves.

And take into account the fact that most teachers get 12 weeks + holidays a year - I get 4.

I tend to support 'the working man' during direct action, which is easy when it has no direct effect on my day to day life such as my bin not being emptied, who cares? but this is a ball ache, I've had to take a day off work and not only have 'the boy' to amuse but one of his mates as well.

however this should not be relevant as to whether to support a strike or not, so with that in mind I'm 100% behind the teachers on this one

Good salary? Clueless.

My ex-wife is a teacher, my sister is a teacher and my cousin is a teacher. They earn £55k, £38k and £41k ( not in that order ). All these I would class as good salaries.
