yes indeed. It's certainly an easy way to get out of there after a game..but will you have people jacking the taxis from you? I'm all too familiar with calling a taxi from work and then some old lady just waltzes into the cab..having said that though how many old ladies fill our stands?

Id imagine that most of the fares on match days are not really that enticing for a taxi driver, it will probably take them ages to get to the stadium and then back out of the area only to drop someone back into town.

they had no trouble getting to the stadium it was the stewards who were not sorted!

I've heard that the club are concerned that many supporters cant find their way to the Amex successfully.

Therefore, if you phone the club on the morning of the game they will send a complimentary taxi to pick you up. For super fans, with more than 2000 points, there will be a free bacon sandwich.

Brighton and Hove Albion – Amex Stadium

I am writing to explain the official arrangements for taxis and private hire vehicles at the new Brighton and Hove Albion – Amex Stadium.

The stadium is owned by Brighton and Hove Albion and is located entirely on Private Property. There will be no official taxi rank for either Brighton & Hove or Lewes taxis at the new stadium. There will however be a shared area which will be used as a drop off / pick up point located in the coach park / park and ride area, which is only accessible via Village Way, Falmer. This area will be supervised by stewards and security staff employed directly by Brighton and Hove Albion. As it is private property they will have absolute control over access to this area for any vehicle traffic including taxi/private hire vehicles.

Management of Brighton and Hove Albion have made clear that they expect this informal arrangement to work well but any driver that causes problems either to staff or other taxi drivers will be effectively banned from this area. I think it is in everybody’s interest to be guided by the stewards and I am sure that if there are any initial problems these will be quickly resolved.

16 July 2011 – Sussex Senior Cup Final
30 July 2011 – Brighton V Spurs – Friendly
6 August 2011 –Brighton V Doncaster – Opening Home Game
