Given that the Wrexham owners have, allegedly, spent £500,000 on a “works outing” and such events are seen by HMRC as benefit in kind, I’d imagine that someone is going to get an unexpected income tax bill!

I wonder how this works and whether they have the same rules as us mere mortals? I’m guessing there’s a contractual get out of jail card?

The tax will probably be settled by way of a PAYE Settlement Agreement (PSA) whereby the employer will pay the income tax and NI liability arising on the benefit in kind on behalf of the employees.
