I think, depending on the score, we may see him for a 20-15 minute cameo.

I don’t think he will start a game until after the international break.

I'd be amazed if he started, we are where we are with without Lamptey so it would be extremely harsh to drop Veltman, Lamptey would be a fantastic option off the bench with 20 to play if we find ourselves behind in the game but changing things to suit a Lamptey start could upset the rhythm of things.

What a option to have though against a tiring defence, just hope it's the last time we see him hobble off holding those supersonic hamstrings.

I can't remember the last time I saw Lamptey in the flesh ? I recall watching him on TV limping off away at Newcastle at half time first game of last season - was this his last appearance for us ? That's one heck of a hamstring injury

That Newcastle game was only the second of the season, and he was subbed off because we were cruising at 2-0 rather than injury. His injury came in the Fulham away game in December.

As for seeing him play in the flesh, I’m fairly sure that all of his appearances were in empty stadia until last Wednesday, so not surprised you can’t remember the last time your saw him!

His debut was in lockdown, and didn't play against Sheffield utd so no supporters have seen him play.

This. Bring him on 65th minute if we're not winning. His pace will frighten a tired defence.

Newcastle had been trying to kick lumps out of him in that game. Saint-Maximin had to come off in the first half after injuring himself trying to foul Lamptey. He was taken off because they were targeting him and we were well in control of the game.

In my experience, quick players are always much quicker in the flesh than on TV.

Are we in for a treat :albion2:

Seen him at the Chelsea, Southampton and Swansea games he is incredibly quick. Noticeably quicker in the flesh, balls that he’s got no right to get to he nips in and is away (or fouled).

I cant imagine how Lamptey could look any quicker than he does on TV. The way he bursts away from people is unreal. Like you say, he wins the ball in situations where it looks like there's no chance.

I've seen him in the flesh twice. Once on Wednesday, and the other time was the pre-season friendly against Chelsea at the start of last season. There were one or two home games round about November when a reduced crowd attended IIRC too, so others could/would have seen him then.

Correct, he def played when we lost to Southampton 2-1 in early Dec with a small crowd. He went off injured away at Fulham a couple of weeks later so missed the reduced-crowd Sheff Utd game, which was the last before we went back behind closed doors…..
