Quick, strong and clever.

We're unlikely to keep him long term but he will be a huge part of the team for as long as he is here.

Seems to have settled in well already and definitely a great prospect. And an absolute bargain.

Why?

He chose the Albion.
The Albion have been true to their word and played him.
The club have stated ambitions of top 10.
He has no competition within the squad.
The club loves a contract extension.
Mr Bloom doesn't sell assets.

Being touted for England in The Times today....

As much as i'd love to see another Albion player in the national side, I can imagine that Alexander-Arnold has the position sewn up for the foreseeable, barring injury/suspension etc.

Right back is one of the tougher positions to get a shot at in the current England set up. TAA, Wan Bissaka, Walker, Trippier, Reece James...

I’m pretty sure he qualifies to play for Ghana as well, this may end up his route to international football.

Certainly going to be tough, Walker and Trippier are coming to the end of their international careers though. The next 10 years with TAA, Wan Bissaka, Reece James and Lamptey could be an interesting tussle for the squad places. I'm sure if Tariq continues in the way he has then he'll get some call ups, then again we thought that about Lewis Dunk. Lamptey will also remain eligible for the England U21s until the end of the 2023 UEFA European Under-21 Championship.

Just have to hope Leeds aren't interested.

Very different player though.

TTA is a Beckham-esque full back, Lamptey is like a Sterling-esque full back.

Yup. Truly bizarre right back situation. Southgate going to have to do a Potter and start with two of them.

Tariq may have to switch to centre back to get e regular place in the England team.

He is really ****ing good isn't he.

Amazing strength for a 19 year old

There’s one shot of him on the official site match gallery, him holding off a Norwich player and his upper leg muscle definition is something to behold; must put in some serious gym hours.
