Fragile and inconsistent. We can't let sentiment get in the way of sense.
I'm not sure about the inconsistent, I think like any player in and out after injury that is difficult to achieve. He may have lost a little pace he maybe adapting his game I still wouldn't want to play against him. He doesn't get all the fouls against him that he should, I think the ref thinks he goes down to easily, but when you're that quick and you get a nudge it's a job to stay on your feet.
If I was sentimental I'd want the the old seagulls badge back, or even the dolphin!

😔

Wonder if he was close to Maupay, as he'd talk some sense into him!

Would it be great if he signs a new contract?

A difficult one for the player and club.

If the injuries are behind him, I think it would be fantastic but it’s a gamble.

But most players move on a free with their contract so close to running out. He was good yesterday and forgetting the odd defensive clanger, always looks strong going forward these days.

If you’d have asked me this 3 months ago, it was a definite no from me. His pace looked to be totally gone and his confidence was non existent.
The last few games he has played though, he has looked more like his old self. I’d happily keep him if he is happy to accept a bit part in the squad

I think he’s consistently our best RW currently and am amazed he doesn’t start there. He’s also really finding form at FB and is a realy good attacking option at RWB if we play that.

That'd be fine if he wasn't a full back. Without someone clearing up behind him, Tariq's defending is terrible. Hence he's our 4th choice right (& left, I guess) back

If he can keep up the form of the last few games, and if he can replicate that in both full back/wing back positions, then happy to keep him as a squad player. Would be very useful to have someone who can play on either side.

For periods he was our most exciting player on the pitch. That sudden burst of pace he has, gives opposition real problems. I’d like to see him be encouraged far more to get in attacking positions. He needs to work on his shooting. And man marking O’Brien on corners wasn’t a great look or idea. With the right manager he could improve a lot.
