I think that you can take it as nearly 100% certain that we will be signing at least one new full back very soon. This bad run coinciding with Tanno quitting may well do us a favour in the long term as Gus is gonna have to shore up the defence and stop shuffling it...imo

interesting timing. presumably the new contract needed to be either asst mgr or asst player manager as there is a different cost structure. was the palace game a test to see if he could still do it? he played well but must have suffered for it so decided to call time. calde was understandably pissed off that he was dropped on that basis - had a hissy fit and got himself kicked off the bench. this is a shame cos had he come on to replace tano, who knows...
may be bollox - but it's one interpretation.

I'd imagine that Gus has a replacement already lined up. Can't imagine he'd allow this & leave Painter as our only option.
