'Tank' driving down London Road

Anyone know why there was a tank, or large armoured personnel carrier, driving down London Road towards Preston Circus this afternoon, three squaddies sticking their heads out of the turrets as if they were in Afghanistan rather than sitting in traffic in Brighton - then again it was London Road!
