Simon Jordan has just been on TalkSport.

Can't stand the bloke but he actually talked allot of sense (apart from the bit about Andy Johnston being on £7.5k a goal and him want AJ to miss a penalty!).

Anyway at the end of the interview they asked him about our rivalry and he said it stems from something that happened 40 odd years ago where a Brighton fan was killed after an altercation between fans? This is news to me. Can anyone shed any light?

I can remember someone being killed on their way back from a midweek game in the late 70s early 80s by a train, but I dont know if this involved an altercation or palace.

Does this help?

Alternatively; isnt it probably the case that he is a clueless twerp and is probably referring to Mullers sticking vs up to the palace supporters?

It was a Liverpool fan that died on the train and it was because he lent out of the window and hit a bridge or something.

No Brighton fans have been killed by that lot, that's just ridiculous! What a ****

I used to stick my head out of the window on the Seagull Specials to get some fresh air , its not so much the bridges and tunnels but a train in the opposite direction going past at 100mph.

In the 70s, a Millwall fan died on the track after a fight with West Ham - is Tango Man thinking of that?
