He started against City and got injured and was out for quite a few games. Once he was fit the team was playing so well he hasn’t been able to get a start. Probably is pissed off but he'll just have to wait for a chance to start a game, He has looked OK when he has come on but done nothing special that I have seen? He looked pretty good against Atletico in the friendly too. Just not had a run of games, so can’t really judge.

They probably have, which may be why he is playing in every game. Cannot see where he is going to get a start though

Is he? I know he was injured for a bit, but has he come on as a sub every game since then? In that case, maybe Chelsea should have specified how many minutes, rather than how many (short) appearances!

Exactly as he’d likely only be a squad player, would be much better of going back to Championship club and playing every week. Would definitely be a good signing for us though.

Agree. Chelsea will almost certainly want him playing games - so, Aston Villa for Tammy, then. Can't say that'll bother me.

TA is still only 20, so would not 'count' as one of the 25 named squad limit. That last remaining space (if no departures from the 24 named today) surely reserved for a CB. As such he'd be a 'bonus' signing, so little to lose.

Can't say I'm much bothered either way, though.

I think Abraham would be a great signing for us as a backup but as others have said, wouldn't imagine Chelsea would be too keen on him warming our bench. Having said that though, if we paid his full wages and Villa did not, maybe they wouldn't be so fussed!
