If that IS the staring line-up then Lampard's a lucky boy.

I think Slovenia could then go 4-5-1, congest the midfield AND try and get a 2 on 1 down our left. Ashley Cole will get f***-all protection from whoever is designated to play wide left.

Also, there's no width there, and it's 4-4-2 to the death.

Do we play better in red? Other than the obvious, I can't think of many examples.

Clutching at straws some more, we always play better on the BBC.

To be fair, we played quite well in both of those games against the eventual winners of both tournaments, and only lost due to a handball goal and on pens.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think we've been KNOCKED OUT of a tournament whilst wearing red since 1970 against the Germans.

1982, 1986, 1988, 1990, 1992, 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004 and 2006 we were in WHITE
1996 was the grey
1994 qualifiers we were in white for the fateful Holland game
2008 qualifiers we were in white for the fateful Croatia game

I say DITCH the white.

Maybe Rooney will finally collect a pass now. After all, he's been seeing red all tournament.

Boom boom.
