I'm in the 'I like TalkSport' camp.

That doesn't mean I like all the presenters though.

Brazil is a prick
Jim White loves the sound of his own voice too much
Mike Parry is a prick

Hawksbee & Jacobs are superb
Max Rushden & Barry Glendenning are excellent
I like Adrian Durham
Danny Kelly is good.

Once the season is underway, The Guardian Football Weekly is essential listening on my drives to and from work. It goes out on Mondays and Thursdays, with Max Rushton and (usually) Barry Glendenning, plus a couple of other football journo's. I think it strikes a really good balance between decent analysis and informal bollocks. Quickly Kevin with Josh Widdicombe, a podcast mainly on 90's football, is consistently brilliant and laugh-out-loud funny. Away from sport, Frank Skinner on Absolute Radio is a constant joy (its been going for years).

All of these make me completely forget about TalkSPORT on my commuting. Hugely entertaining.

PS. I had NO idea that Max Rushton is Willie Rushtons son. I'm not joking, he's mentioned it.

Ta. I'll give it a go. I used to listen to podcasts all the time but at work. Don't have that luxury any more but do have at least 3 hours in a car each day so easily could.

Used to love Flintoff, Savage and Syed.

I don't mind Brazil to be honest, yes it does get a little tedious him going on about where he's going for lunch but his co-hosts are normally pretty good (David Ginola aside) and he has some good guests. Durham totally agree, Gough is shit too. It never goes on during the journey home until after 7.

Any recommendations?

Whys that?

Probably the source of all your nonsense arguments.

Yep, thats another good one, hopefully they'll be back for another series soon. It COMPLETELY changed my opinion of Robbie Savage, I did a full 180 on him. Thought he was an insufferable big-time prick, my opinion of him was so deeply jaundiced by his time at BHA, when he was an utter waste of space here. But listening to those pods, he just grew on me, like a wart. The episode when he opened up and talked about the death of his father actually had me welling up. In the car. Not ideal.

I tolerate Talksport. I like the coral betting update at 8.20 and it then stays on until Brazil says something that makes me tell him to 'fack off' before Absolute radio comes on until that gets on my tits.

As for 5 live, I've given up on it as it's disappeared up its own arse trying to include sports that nobody gives 2 shits about and wants to provoke debates about the likes of 'Should there be more lesbians in motor bike racing? If Talksport concentrates on the big 6 to the extent my ears feel like they are bleeding, 5 live makes me reach for the Guardian and a bowl of Quinoa. Like life in general, those of us in the middle are made to feel left out.

Yes, yes and yes. Me as well. As you say the episode about his dad was genuinely moving and brought a lump to my throat as well. His persona with the hair, teeth and the flash motors (and being a bit of a div on the pitch) make him look like a prick but listening to that it makes you realise he is just a working class lad who has done well for himself so is enjoying his life.

Flintoff's story about the time he took viagra had me crying with laughter.
