I made the mistake of listening to TalkSport’s PREMIER LEAGUE All Access podcast, it was a review of the weekend games, except it wasn’t. We didn’t get a second of coverage, in fact, they spent more time talking about Man Utd and Liverpool’s European fixtures.

For balance, I also listened to Guardian’s Football Podcast and it was abundantly clear for our 2 minutes of coverage nobody on the panel had watched the game, they were baffled about what had gone on with regards to the Igor in an ice cream truck tweet and thought it was something to do with actual Seagulls. Poor.

I occasionally dip into the Guardian pod and did so today but why bother? As you suggest, they have no idea aside from having watched 2-minute highlights. Once in a while they have a knowledgeable guest on who's watched our game and has a bit of insight but it's about as rare as hen's teeth.

Just listened to this. Now I'm no fan of Goldstein BUT...

The comment about squad depth was in answer to a question on the potential of Albion finishing in the top four.

Bent was complimentary about MANY of our players - JP, Rutter, Welz, Mitoma etc.

He said we play "lovely football".

And said we were good enough for a European spot.

Not really slagging us off then...

Oh, and he said clubs could well be in for Pedro, not that we will sell him. Not the same thing!

I actually really enjoy TalkSport. Simon Jordan is brilliant and on a Saturday morning Max Rushden and Charlie Baker make me LOL every week!

Yes it’s childish but perhaps that’s why I like that show so much.
