I'd have been disappointed if a clueless outlet like TalkSport had us down for anything other than relegation. They are a radio station rammed with thicky Paul Merson types, who will have lazily looked at last season, seen we binned off a competent manager who had lost his way, and just concluded that was us down.

I genuinely feel positive about this season, we won't pull up any trees but I do believe we'll be at arms length from relegation worries all season and will end up 14th ish, with perhaps a decent cup run.

I'm pretty sure every football prediction from pundits for the previous 2 seasons had us down to be relegated. Two seasons where we've never been in the relegation zone and I've concluded they don't know much

BT Sport's "big brains" have predicted the Albion finishing safely in 16th, with Toon, Norwich and Sheff Utd in the bottom three.

I'll be very happy if that happens!

Score less goals and win more games with only 4 draws. I am not sure that is likely.

We will be relegated unless with improve our forward and striking options. The odd little bit of quality from Locardia, Andone and AJ is not going to be enough.

I am surprised they even know we are in the league. When you consider they give airtime and pay Jason Candy and Jamie O Hara money for comment it’s hard to take anything they say seriously. Just click bait radio isn’t it

You know what? We might well finish bottom as GP is a very left field and brave appointment with one years experience as a Championship manager.

I remain upbeat though

I'd like to keep all these things in the same please, because come the end of the season - all these predictions are going to look ridiculous.

Exactly. It's all just consumable content that doesn't really matter because, quite frankly, no-one knows what's going to happen. Exactly the same as the transfer rumours going around the place all of the summer. It's all a clever ploy to keep people interested in football during the break and get fans excited about 'ongoing talks' or 'done deals' that a lot of the time turn out to be nothing.

If I'm honest, it has the opposite effect on me and I find myself less and less interested in the circus surrounding the actual football.
