The thing with ticketing from a venue's point of view is that it's 'value for money' if it sells out, but overpriced if it doesn't. These gigs WILL sell out. Personally I wouldn't pay that much, but there are plenty who will. It's the same with theatre, sport, etc - if there's someone willing to pay then there isn't a problem. The difficulty lies in trying to get people back if they have previously been 'priced-out'.

The answer is to support newer up and coming acts, or those who still maintain a sensible pricing approach. My limit is £80 at the moment. Yet there are still classics acts out there not ripping off. Steve Earl who played here recently for £20-25 and appeared afterwards for a meet and great with the entire audience, for example.

Vicar! for me is on the money. We were all discussing in the Horse & Groom that the Stones would sell out for sure, but for that money, and I expect they will "Due to Extra Demand" fill another date or two.

Septuagenarians for that money. I don't think so.
