I meant "Living the dream" where a chairman pumps loads of unaccounted for money into a club and bankrupts the club by the "dream" ....

What is a Ridsdale situation? [/QUOTE]

wonder if Houghton told the underpriviledged children to "stop living the dream" when asked to donate to Children in Need!

Absofuckinglutely. Many of our greatest institutions were either started by or supported by Philanthropists who realised there was a greater good beyond profit and ego. It's a disgrace that the game we gave to the world is being dismantled in it's birth place by these money-grabbing bastards.

Thanks for saying all that for me HJ.

I still think in terms of Divisions 1, 2, 3 & 4.

What the :censored: Houghton forgets is, whatever league a team is playing in they are just another club. We all depend upon each other.

The mighty can, and do, fall. There is only one team who have played all of their league matches in the top division.

I just wish that there were more people like me who refuse to have Sky television, but I do realise that it is their choice. I dream that for one month football fans, who are Sky subscribers, bond together and unsubscribe to teach the bastards a lesson. Think of all the revenue that they would miss if fans staged a protest against their interference and influence in our beloved game.

Its funny though how even though everybody realises that the presenters are basically reading from a script, they still feel the need to ring up and argue. Im not knocking them, I've done it myself! Ive never heard a show where both presenters have the same viewpoint on things.

Now that is a good idea. If all the fans in the lower leagues or at least quite a few did this it would give some power back to the lower clubs. I would be up for it.

I remember them harping on once about Millwall and them getting to the FA cup final. They were saying how smaller clubs getting to the final ruined what was suppose to be a great competition. I remember at the time thinking do they really think that or are they just saying it so they can get Millwall fans to ring up and argue

They don't have to and will not do it but would they miss it ? Why should they do it ? to keep football alive at all levels some of the clubs in the premiershite have been down with us and others.
Fulham,P****e,Portsmouth,Southampton,Man City, Charlton,Newcastle,Bolton,Norwich,Blackburn and more they should remember their roots.

but sides like that are trying to win things now or get into europe and spend all there money on players to achieve this, could you see newcastle giving us a million pounds ahead of sign a much needed cb?

Which is why I don't bother listening to Durham/Hougton & Kinghorn/Cascarino - the discussion is so artificial and flimsy, it's like listening to an audio book of the Sun. The rest of the programmes tend to be much better, however.
