My old nexus 7 works great. Lovely bit of kit imo. And its the 8gb version.

I went for the I-pad mini as I travel around a lot for work and bloody love it.
I would suggest making sure you want a 10' or a 7i model, I thought the 7' would be rubbish, but I much prefer it now.
Also can hold in one hand when bashing one out...
