Afg vs NZ looks likely to be washed out. After Ire beat Eng, the Group 1 table will therefore look very congested after two games complete for all teams. NZ out front on 3 points, Afg trailing on 1 point, everyone else on 2 points.

Two absolutely terrible run chases by England, one they got away with and one they didn't against what should be two of the weaker teams in their group.

Feels like one of those Capello / Hodgson era football world cups where England win their opening game 1-0 against someone like Algeria, scrape a draw against (e.g.) Slovenia then get their arses handed to them by the other decent team in the group.

But If we are eliminated will Stokes , as leaving the field of play, turn to the cameras and deride our fans booing ?

South Africa have absolutely hammered Bangladesh this morning.

India currently in the process of doing the same to Netherlands.

Group 2 table will this have India on top, SAf second, with Pak vs Zim still to play their 2nd match.

Be a bit of a shock if South Africa make it through to the semis, they were very unfancied going into the tournament

Set the cat amongst the pigeons, or just confirm Pakistan's demise with India and South Africa cruising to qualification.

It is great to see a rejuvenated Zimbabwe though

ZIM still have BAN, NED, IND to play. Conceivable they end on 7 points. SAf have IND, PAK, NED. Plausible they end on 5 if PAK find some form.

Also the possibility of more rain issues coming into it. ZIM very much in play to make the semi's now.

Well, this is disappointing. It's pissing down in Melbourne - looks like England Australia is going to be abandoned.
