Absolutely fantastic day out all the same. Brilliant fun.

Sums it up. I’ve never had even a reasonable day out when the Albion have lost but I suspect that given the rapid demise and poor results of Sussex CCC this season no one had any great expectations yesterday. Even the players looked like they enjoyed it as they waved their good byes.

Poor Ben Brown. What must be be thinking?

I still have fond memories of a September evening in the Cricketers Pub in 2007 when I celebrated Sussex winning the County Championship again. Little did I know that would be the last, probably in my lifetime

Worth pointing out Kent have been the best team throughout the comp. Sussex did have a record number of games rained off, which destroyed any chance at generating momentum - but this isn’t an excuse as the final was after a strange CC break for all sides. Sussex were not too far away either. Even when 7 wickets down we were just within 6 runs of the Kent comparative score at the 18 over mark. Difference here was Darren Stephens scoring runs at the back end of their innings.
