Agreed. There's always a tendency to fear "going back" and the original has such high standards to live up to but getting Danny Boyle back is the key. This looks great and very much in keeping with the feel of the original. I like the hook in using the same Choose Life theme as the original while keeping the plot largely under wraps. Can't wait.

Trainspotting is a film I've watched more than any other, somewhere in the region of 15 times. An absolute classic and probably the only film, apart from Shallow Grave, in which McGregor can actually act. As much as you can tell from a trailer, T2 looks like a schmaltzy nod to the first film...hmmm

Looks like it's based on the book "Porno" which was fantastic!!! Exept I'm sure in book Dianne was working in a cafe (tomato soup/tampoon bit ) but she seems to be in bussiness suit etc in clip

Looking forward to it. I turned 18 in 1996 when Trainspotting was released, so I always look back at it with great fondness.
