While Labour play the worst kind of petty party politics Syrian men, woman and children are dying. This is not about Iraq and lessons learnt, it's about getting noticed and scoring cheap points and may come back to bite Miliband and his front bench because he has screwed up the plans supported by all sides in America.

The issue to me isn't who did the gassing, just that whoever did needs sorting.

But what I see from the tree hugging brigade is that nothing should be done.

Deluded idiots.

Why worry about it? No Brits were targeted, so none of our business. The sun has set on the British Empire, and we should be like Germany. Pass laws that our forces can only be used for national defence, and not in an offensive capacity.

They are indeed. Why is that? Oh, I remember, because some terrorists tried to overthrow their government.

How about trying to be a good human being, chemical weapons are not just about international law they are against basic human law. Sometimes doing the right thing is not just about our own national interest.

I don't think Cameron was bothered about Syria till his missus kicked off about it, a lot more atrocities in the world that simply get ignored including plenty closer to home like Zimbabwe

Is the correct answer. If we must go killing people, we should start with the defence of our own kind.

Lets face it , usa have had a beef with Syria for a long time and have been itching to get in there. This runs deep with the Israel thing at the forefront .

Very complicated situation and take a bold move to call the best action

Listened to the debate on Radio 5 and Cameron came over as a statesman. Milliband came over as a.....er....DICK! Heaven forbid he ever gets voted in as PM, the man is as convincing as an idiot as he is as unconvincing as a politician.

I wish people would read what Cameron was saying, he fully respects the need to have the UN report, then the UN debate but wants the door open for UK involvement in military action if OKd by a second parliamentary debate and vote. Milliband was just posturing, and pretty unconvincingly too!

Problem is that the US and Europe should have sorted this out over a year ago instead of standing back and letting it fester.

Is it good to kill people then? Did the people likely to get killed in any NATO strikes have any choice as to the use of chemical weapons (if they were actually used).

We need to remember that is it a common arab tactic to kill some of their own people in order to promote a conflict. Who is to say the terrorists did not attack their own people to get western support? There are a lot of unanswered questions.

Whatever the answers, any action by the West will not be praised by the arab peoples, and will be viewed as imperialism.

It's obvious that the Islamist terrorists were responsible for the gassing.

So either help Assad return it to peace, or leave it well alone.

Yeah, so obvious........from thousands of miles away on your sofa

So using chemical weapons to kill kids is ok? At what percentage of the population do rebels stop becoming rebels

What part of it is not our problem do you find hard to understand? Who voted NATO as the world's police force? Even if it was, as Ernest has said, there are a lot of other problems that we should deal with first as our intervention would be a lot more welcome.

The Arab league asked Nato to attack Libya and by confirming yesterday they believe Assad was responsible for the attack they are on the brink of doing it again? Which Arab peoples are you talking about?

Without taking sides if this is the right or wrong thing to do, i hope we keep out of this.

Syria is no Iraq or Afghanistan they have a lot more hardware and will cost many of our service men lives for what end?

Exactly this. The US only want to protect their mate's long-term military dominance in the region.

The people themselves. How many of them have you asked for their opinion?
