Why are we going to a World Cup to a country which is killing women and children appart from being sporting cheats and who's fans who are encourage to attack other fans.
Should we be playing in Russia.

The only thing keeping Putin from really kicking off is his World Cup.

The time to get worried is after it.

2 weeks after his Winter Olympics finished in 2014, he conquered Crimea. Where will his tanks roll into this summer ? ???

More evidence that the so called rebels are killing more than Putin. The White helmets are just as bad.

Funny enough it was always us causing havoc for decades and now we've been heckled way back in the pecking order when it comes to hard supporters people whinge about it.

Just because they've got a load of loons now it doesn't mean that we don't go to a World Cups or criticise others because of it.We now live in a controlled society which doesn't tolerate trouble unlike other countries and to be fair we are probably a nation of fairies now with zero backbones:lolol:

Yes. Very good. Presumably you supported the invasion of Iraq, and thought there were WMD that were going to be released in 45 minutes. There were plenty around back then -- just as there were plenty that supported Stop the War -- but there are far fewer now. Did you think it was a good idea then, and continue to do so now (given that you're so keen to slag off the StW coalition)? Bring us the truth on this.

I would imagine he is having as little to do with anything vaguely to do with former communist countries as possible!:lolol:

No. Nor should the cynical cheats be let back into the Olympics. FIFA and the IOC are gutless money grubbers who are exploiting their monopoly position to enrich themselves and (probably) obtain unfettered access to illegal legover. The whole shitwagon, from the organizations to their 'favoured' members, makes the Eurovision song contest look realistically winnable and not at all bent.

Thanks. Pop along to StW's site and put Syria into their search facility ....:facepalm:

It seems the Russians gave diplomatic immunity to the luggage of those who mattered at FIFA and we didn't. Consequently they could leave Russia with bundles of cash (US dollars) and not have their bags searched. Add that to a choice of officially-sanctioned Russian ladies for the duration of their stay and it's no surprise that the Russian World Cup bid beat our slightly more ethical one. Just sayin'.

I have no idea what you're talking about.

I think it's a reference to the black/white version of events out there which is disingenuous at best. The anti-Assad bunch included ISIS and a number of other very unsavoury groups. One of the big problems from the outset was that any support against Assad would involve allying with the more nefarious elements, factions you'd almost certainly be fighting assuming you won. This was a big problem in creating a united anti-Assad force.

Russia's involvement was brutal, if a group used a hospital as a base the Russians didn't give a hoot. This is part of the reason they were able to erode ISIS so quickly in the region. The media's current polarisation doesn't help things, the 'rebels' aren't all the nice chaps from Star Wars, many are groups/factions as extreme as ISIS.

Assad and Putin are currently winning comprehensively and using the same tactics they always have. It's highly unpleasant and most likely to be categorised as war crimes, but we need to be a bit more honest about who the rebels are. The poor lot caught up in this are paying the price, we need our media to want to engage with the complexities of it all a bit more.

Point being - village/city destroyed which had ISIS in it (e.g. Mosul). Little focus on civilian casualties, lots on the defeat of ISIS.
village/city with 'rebels' in it, no focus on the rebels and who they are, lots of focus on civilian casualties. Difference is our allies did the former whereas it's Putin/Assad doing the latter.
