I’ve been thinking of Swindon a lot today.

They won the first ever 2nd Division ( Championship now, for you young’uns) play off game against Sunderland, in1990, and should have been promoted to the First Division. A few days after, I can’t remember the exact timescale, they were charged with financial impropriety, and to be fair, they were as guilty as sin. Their Chairman got a 6 month prison sentence for illegal payments to players.

The FA handed out a 2 relegation sentence, putting the club into the 3rd Division, rather than allowing them to be promoted to the First. On appeal this was reduced to a 1 relegation penalty meaning they stayed in the Second Division.

I wonder how Swindon fans would feel about the ESL scab teams not getting any punishment?

Shame the FA can’t get all their owners 6 months.

This was around the same time Spurs were found guilty of financial dodgy dealings, were deducted 6 points and banned from the FA Cup for that season. They effectively paid a fine to "buy" the points back, and were reinstated in the FA Cup on appeal.

One rule for one...

Apparently Power has sold up..which is good news

The Swindonian have been advised that Lee Power has today sold his stake in Swindon Town and is no longer the owner of the club. We are awaiting full confirmation of who the club has been sold to but understand that Clem Morfuni will become the new owner once the financials have been confirmed. More news to follow.

One time in the away open end it poured down and to their credit they let us move round under the roof, mind you it was biblical. Can't remember year or match! Magic roundabout no problem stay alert, eyes closed, foot down, straight across........... easy

Where has he come from? I think he’s probably making a sideways move going to Swindon wherever it was

Swindon had a very good win at Scunthorpe on Saturday (considering their manager was appointed less than 3 weeks ago and they have been scrabbling to even get a squad together).

Even more importantly, they had the gloriously-named George Cowmeadow on the bench.

Talking of Swindon Town, former Albion academy player Ricky Aguiar has secured a move to the League Two side:-

Aquiar spent a couple of years in the academy before being released after his U-14 season (he was a contemporary of Danny Cashman and Ryan Longman). He moved on to play for the youth teams at Lewes and Shoreham and was selected for the English Colleges squad. He moved to Worthing in the summer of 2018 and has scored 15 goals in 95 games for the Mackerel Men (he played the whole match in central midfield for them when they faced the Albion U-23s at the training ground a month ago). He was on trial at Wycombe towards the end of last month and scored in a pre-season friendly against Aylesbury United.

Dont like it - more competition for George Cowmeadow.
